Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum’s Angry Reaction After Bam Adebayo Injured Him
Michael Laughlin-USA TODAY Sports

Even though the Boston Celtics went home victorious after Game 4 against the Miami Heat, All-Star forward Jayson Tatum almost sustained an injury due to Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo’s flagrant foul on him. After the game, he expressed his true thoughts on what happened between him and the big man.

In Game 4 of their first round series, the Celtics went home with the 102-88 victory against Miami. Derrick White surprised everybody by putting up 38 points on 53 percent shooting from deep, four rebounds, and three assists. Jayson Tatum posted 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 17 points and five boards.

For his part, Adebayo lead the Heat with 25 points and 17 rebounds in over 41 minutes on the court. Tyler Herro finished the game with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Caleb Martin contributed 18 points to Miami’s Game 4 loss against the Celtics.

Boston’s win has placed them closer to getting past the Heat and moving on to the second round. Miami’s loss, on the other hand, won’t come as a surprise since most fans have already written them off after Jimmy Butler went down with an MCL injury before the series even started.

Boston Celtics Star Jayson Tatum Expresses Anger After Miami Heat Big Man Bam Adebayo Injured Him

During the fourth quarter, Patty Mills pushed Derrick White while he was attempting a screen for Adebayo, resulting in a defensive foul for the Heat guard. After the whistle was blown, Tatum attempted a shot and the Miami center moved forward to deflect it. This resulted in the Celtics star landing on Adebayo’s foot, leading his ankle to bend before landing on the court.

Adebayo was called for a flagrant foul on Tatum with the Boston forward in visible pain. After the game, he expressed his thoughts on what happened in the fourth quarter in a tweet by Bobby Manning on X:

“Tatum: “I was mad, just because it’s the same ankle (from Game 7). I’ve tweaked my ankle 1,000 times playing this game. It was throbbing, but then the adrenaline made it wear off I guess, and just kept playing,” Manning tweeted.

Fortunately, Tatum seemed fine after the game and is not in danger of missing time from the team. The Heat, however, are showing signs of frustration that their season may possibly come to an end sooner than they’d like.

With one more win needed to close out the series, expect Tatum and the Celtics to close Miami out in Game 5. If they do, the can get more time to rest and await the eventual winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers-Orlando Magic first round series.
