Tottenham are being strongly linked with a move for West Ham wonderkid Daniel Rigge.

The club have been investing on promising youngsters as a strategy since a couple of years.

Last summer, Spurs bolstered their ranks with signings like Alejo Veliz and Ashley Phillips, both of whom are currently out on loan.

Additionally, they secured the services of Lucas Bergvall in January, who will officially join the club next season.

The Lilywhites are now in pursuit of the West Ham academy prospect.

It was reported by ESPN yesterday that the North London club are leading the race to sign the attacking midfielder who is wanted by other Premier League clubs as well.

And now renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reiterated the same, confirming that the North London outfit are currently the frontrunners to secure the midfield prodigy’s signature.

On his official X handle, the Italian journalist reported that four clubs are in the race to sign Rigge, which were recently revealed as Tottenham’s rivals Arsenal and fellow Premier League club Manchester United.

The teenage sensation recently inked his first professional contract with the Hammers in October last year, extending his deal for an additional two years.

Romano disclosed that while Rigge is content with his current situation at West Ham, his standout performances have attracted attention, with multiple clubs expected to make offers for him.

He shared the following on X:

“Tottenham are currently leading the race to sign 2006 born talented midfielder Dan Rigge from West Ham.”

“There are four clubs in the race, Rigge’s happy at West Ham after positive season — but several clubs are prepared to test the water in the next weeks.”

The 18-year-old’s contributions have been notable for the West Ham U18 side, where he has played a pivotal role this season as they currently sit second in the South table, trailing only behind Chelsea U18.

The English wonderkid has been in prolific form, netting 11 goals and contributing 6 assists in his 19 league appearances in the ongoing league campaign. (Transfermarkt)

With the summer transfer window looming, there’s anticipation of a tight competition for the services of the 2006-born midfielder, with Spurs keen to add another talent to their roster.
