Real Madrid fans had high hopes when the club brought in Arda Guler . The 19-year-old boy wonder was brought to the club after Real Madrid beat the likes of FC Barcelona and AC Milan to his signature. Despite his monumental reputation, the youngster has ‘failed’ to impress at the club. Be it a lack or playing time or reasons otherwise, he is yet to fully take shape with the Los Blancos.

However, fans saw a glimpse of his brilliant self during Real Madrid‘s 4-2 win over CA Osasuna. The 19-year-old nearly scored one of the goals of the season, as he attempted the unthinkable from the halfway line. As the ball dropped to the No.24, he quickly took a touch before spotting that the opposition keeper was well off his line. He unleashed a shot from miles out, which to his dismay, hit the crossbar and bounced back into play.

The crowd had their hands on their heads as a brilliant goal went to waste. That being said, clips of the same are going viral on football X, with many commenting that it is only a matter of time before the youngster finds his feet for Real.

However, others were rigid in their opinion that he was not going to fit in at Real, at least until Carlo Ancelotti leaves the club. Real maintained their ten-point lead at the top following the win on Saturday.

Real Madrid continue to impress with 4-2 win as Carlo Ancelotti showers praise on Arda Guler

Arda Guler may not have scored, but the young forward certainly turned heads with his unbelievable attempt from the halfway line. His shot elicited a cheerful response from the gaffer, as he quickly praised the No.24’s display. The Los Blancos are in no mood to drop points and the game against Osasuna showed just why Carlo Ancelotti’s men are the top candidates to lift the La Liga title this year. In a game which saw Vinicius Jr. grab most of the headlines, Daniel Carvajal and Brahim Diaz also grabbed goals.

That's a goal for us, it doesn't matter. It really feels like he scored. Only few players can even try that magic shot. At the age of 19, I have seen very few players be so confident. Carlo Ancelotti in a post-match press conference

As Madrid remain relentless in their pursuit of the La Liga title, it is becoming more and more evident that Barcelona may have to settle for second place.

In the Champions League, Real Madrid have to overcome a much bigger challenge, as they have to face defending champions Manchester City. While many feel that the two sides should have faced off later in the competition, a significant portion of supporters can’t wait for a rematch!
